Arts Humboldt held a barbeque to go along with Discovery Ford's car show on Saturday.

Brian Grest of Arts Humboldt explains more about the event.

"We are part of Discovery Ford's Car Show, it's an annual event that they hold. They approached us about doing a barbecue fundraiser here with them and of course, we accepted. They provided all the materials, the barbecue, the tables, and we're fortunate enough to be taking all the profits from it."

He adds that the funds are going towards a performing arts facility in Humboldt.

"Arts Humboldt is trying to build funds towards a future performing arts facility. We hope to be able to have a nest egg ready when the City of Humboldt builds the performing arts facility and we'll use that money to help furnish and equip the new facility."

The next event for Arts Humboldt is on September 26 when Tom Savage of Kingston plays a concert in Humboldt.

The Barbecue also featured live music from Andy McAnally and Dave Martinuk.
