Saskatoon RCMP have laid 33 charges against five individuals for their role in an overnight incident that spanned 166 kilometres.

Police say that at 2:50am on Saturday, they received a complaint of an armed robbery at a rural residence south of Clavet. A firearm was used during the robbery.

From there, suspects left the scene and a second complaint was reported involving the same suspects.

Driving a stolen SUV, the vehicle rolled near Highway 16.

After a vehicle with two females stopped to see if they needed assistance, the suspects robbed the two women at gunpoint and fled the scene with their vehicle. The victims ran to a nearby bush and hid as the suspects left.

After locating the vehicle in the City of Saskatoon, a chase began on the north end of the city.

Two attempts were made to stop the vehicle using road spikes, as well as a spike belt.

The suspect vehicle avoided the belt and continued on where the pursuit ended in North Battleford after five suspects abandoned the stolen vehicle and fled on foot.

Four of the suspects were immediately apprehended by police, while the fifth was arrested shortly after with the assistance of a police dog.

Two adult males - one age 21 - and three teenagers - two males ages 15 and 16, as well as one 16 year old female were arrested.

The list of charges includes armed robbery, uttering threats of death, assault with a weapon, pointing a firearm, assault, flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, resisting arrest, possession of weapons dangerous to the public, mischief, break and enter, and possession of stolen property.

All five suspects are from First Nation communities in the North Battleford area.
