After the success of last year's event, and with a growing interest in archery among the area's youth, the Last Mountain Bow Benders Club hosted the second annual 3-D shoot Saturday in Drake.

The club started after the previously underutilized curling rink became available. Now home to an indoor archery range at the Drake Sportsplex, the facility attracts archers young and old from the community and beyond.

Club president, John Buggy, says archery enthusiasts enjoy shooting at the fifteen life-size targets of such animals as moose, deer, elk and more at the range.

Although he says it has always been a popular sport, Buggy says a growing number of young people have taken to the sport of late, thanks to the National Archery in Schools program.

"It's just a blast to get out and shoot archery. Most people, if they try it, really get the bug and like doing it," says Buggy.

The club boasts an outdoor range as well, for the warmer months and is always open to all.
