After being forced from their homes due to torrential downpours, residents of Arborfield are welcome home.

The town rescinded a mandatory evacuation notice for the small community located two hours northeast of Humboldt.

A partial evacuation lift permitted some residents to return home on Wednesday.

According to the town, water levels have receded and the sanitary sewer system is regaining capacity.

The evacuation notice was given on Tuesday afternoon following a breach of a water barrier.
