With the upcoming legalization of marijuana on July 1, the City of Humboldt is readying for their first public discussion on the subject.

A discretionary use application will be tabled at Monday's council meeting for a medical marijuana grow operation in the city.

The application has been submitted by Alexander Calkins on behalf of Cannadabis Medical Inc. and would operate out of a building on 3rd Avenue.

If council proceeds with the application process, a public hearing will be scheduled for February 12, where residents can chime in on the matter.
