The St. Therese Institute was the most popular place to visit in Bruno on Sunday, as it hosted the 14th annual Cherry Festival.

The event saw food vendors set up booths, a children's play area, as well as some onstage entertainment all day.

Coordinator Kendra Sorokoski tells us where the idea for the festival first came from.

"The U of S planted the cherry trees here as a trial run. Once they kicked off, we decided to host a festival to bring people in and pick them as well."

She explains what this festival means to the community of Bruno.

"This festival means bringing in new people, showing off our town and what we're proud of, which is our cherry orchards."

The event has been hosted every on a Sunday in August for the last 14 years, Sorokoski explains what new features they had in store for this year.

"this year we had a variety of new entertainment acts, we had some from last years as well but that was our biggest change as well as the vendors. Other than that it's the same old cherry Sunday."

The Festival is a major attraction to the Town of Bruno every year.
