Hundreds of firefighters', friends and family took part in the Nutrien Annual Firefighters' Rodeo.

The event that took place at the Lanigan Rec Centre where firefighters took part in multiple drills to test their physical abilities, smarts, and competitiveness as well. 8 teams from different departments in the local area took part in activities related to the duties of a firefighter such as a house fire scenario, carbon monoxide poisoning, first responders accident scene, and many more drills to test the first responders.

"Oh man, The timeline comes out pretty much at the start of June and I'm lining up coordinators, judges, and casualties and making a package for the teams with rules and guidelines, yeah we honestly start 6 months ahead of the event," said Ford Leggott, one of the organizers of the event, on what he had to say about preparing for the rodeo.

Volunteers helped to make the event happen, as some acted as people in need of help or just helped set up the event. It's important for our first responders to go through this type of training so whenever certain scenarios arise, they are prepared for the worst that could happen.

One of the departments that took part was the City of Humboldt.
