Humboldt's Tim Hortons location officially made their contribution to the Humboldt District Hospital Foundation on Wednesday.

Local owner Dan Grywacheski presented the HDHF with a cheque for $8,012, stemming from their smile cookie sales in September.

Executive Director of the foundation, Lorrie Bunko, says that the money will be set aside for their equipment costs.

"We are going to be putting the money towards general equipment," she explained. "Two of the ones we are focusing on right now is the fetal heart monitor and the ultrasound. Both of those are very important big ticket items."

Bunko added that the 8,012 cookies sold - a new record for the Humboldt location - is a testament to the people who support the week, both employees and customers.

"It's amazing. That is a lot of cookies, and they always had a smile on their face. I was here throughout the week and they always had smiles on. They were insanely busy," she said. "A big thanks to all the people who supported the campaign, and all the businesses, it is a great week and I always look forward to it."

The foundation recently held their annual golf tournament and walk as well, and will now take a break before their Christmas angels campaign in December.
