Halloween is on Saturday and Access Communications is gearing up to patrol the streets and ensure the safety of trick or treaters in Humboldt.

If there are any issues for children or parents they can approach the Access vehicle who will have direct contact with RCMP and ambulance.

Access Northeast Region Manager Ron Irvine says Pumpkin Patrol is an annual occurrence for them.

"This is actually our 18th year patrolling, we started in Regina and over the years have expanded into Weyburn, Estevan, North Battleford, Yorkton and now we're into Humboldt and Melfort as well."

From 4-8pm on Halloween you will see the Access truck decorated and ready to help out said Irvine, "we're very visible out there, we have glow in the dark decals on our truck and our orange pumpkins and beacons on the truck so we can be very visible so it's an opportunity to help out by being out there and getting the message out to the kids that we are there if they need us."

Irvine added that the staff gets excited for the fun evening of dressing up and assisting their community.
