The breakfast program at Watson School was provided with a boost this month.

The program that offers healthy snacks and foods to boost the student's nutrition and productivity recently received a $600 donation from Affinity Credit Union.

"We have been running the breakfast program now for three or four years. We have healthy snack foods available all day for all the student's kindergarten to grade twelve. There are vegetables and dip, toast and cereals. We also have a cooking club that runs once a week where we can make something a little fancier like french toast and pancakes, or breakfast burritos and casseroles," said Educational Assistant and one of the organizers of the breakfast program, Inga Maclaine.

Watson School has 120 students and a majority of the students will take advantage of the program. The $600 will help keep them fueled up for classes.

"The money will go entirely towards food purchase. It's quite an expensive venture to provide fresh fruit and good healthy foods to the student all the time, so having that donation allows us to maintain it for a month or two."

A good healthy donation for a good healthy cause.
