The Humboldt man who robbed 7-11 last month is going to jail.

26 year-old Derek Murray pleaded guilty to impaired driving, driving while disqualified, theft while armed with a weapon and commit an indictable offence while masked in a Saskatoon court room on Friday.

He was sentenced to two years and nine months in prison plus he is prohibited from driving for three years following his release. He is also banned from owning a firearm for ten years and must a provide a DNA sample to the federal data bank.

Murray was charged March 16th after he was apprehended shortly after fleeing the convenience store in a vehicle while drunk.

The lone employee at the store during the robbery was forced to remain in the bathroom while, Murray who was masked and armed with a knife stole money and merchandise.

Five other charges were stayed due to the guilty pleas.
