The smell of a sheep farm filled the EPA for the 2018 Grasslands Sheep Exhibition.

Sheep farmers or "want to be" sheep farmers attended the event from July 20th - July 22nd.

"It gives an opportunity for people that are thinking about getting into the industry to come and see animals, we have a display here with a bunch of different breeds, to equipment, and to talk to seed companies," said Gord Schroeder, executive director of the Sheep Development Board.

Gord says the event has taken place in Humboldt for 4 years and is looking to make a return next year for the Canadian Classic.

"It's a very good venue for us and we're well received here so our plan is to stay here a few years."

The exhibition is put on by both the Saskatchewan Sheep Development Board and the Saskatchewan Sheep Breeders.

Shearing demonstrations took place, along with a sheep sale, trade show, and much more.

People from all corners of the western part of the country have made their way down for the event for 41 years.
