The Humboldt Synchro Club has wrapped up another successful season, complete with many "firsts".

Coach Leisl Lefebvre says this was the first year the club decided to compete. Swimmers ages 7-12 have met on a weekly basis since the fall to continue growing their synchronized swimming skills.

After attending a camp and figures meet in November, Lefebvre says four of the club's members were able to compete in the Saskatchewan Winter Games in February.

Lefebvre says the time at the Games was a good learning experience for her swimmers and taught them a lot about competing.

"It was brand spanking new. None of us have been to the Games. It was a very steep learning curve. They had a great time. It was a wonderful experience overall," says Lefebvre.

The four synchro swimmers participated in routine swims, performed solo, duet, and group routines.

The club recently held their winter session water show last Sunday and will re-open the club in the fall.

"The improvement that they show over the course of a session is incredible. They are improving by leaps and bounds, so it makes it very satisfying from a coach's perspective to say that they are getting better, and I'm seeing it all the time," says Lefebvre.
