The Wakaw Warriors improved to 3-0 on their season with a 72-6 win over the Ahtahkakoop Titans on Thursday night.

The Warriors celebrated their alumni at the game played under the lights.

Coach Carter Haryett says it was an all-around effort to get the win.

"Our guys played really well. Our offence is pretty powerful and they put up a lot of points, and our defence held really well right up to the last play of the game."

The Warriors defeated Big River in their second game of the season, and the team has carried momentum from a big season-opening win through the first half of their year.

"Our first game of the year was our biggest challenge, and I've never beaten Rosthern since I've been coaching," explained Haryett. "There were over 140 points in a 6-man game. They scored two really quick and we came back and beat them by 14 in the end. It was a huge game for us."

Wakaw won the game 78-64.

The Warriors have two games left in the regular season, with Haryett adding that they are looking to be a strong contender in the playoffs.

After traveling to Birch Hills on October 5, their last regular season game is at home on October 12 when they welcome Shellbrook.
