After winning gold at the Canada Summer Games to claim back to back national titles, Baseball Saskatchewan's Under-18 team has been named Sask Sport's Team of the Year.

They were the first team from Saskatchewan to win baseball gold at the Canada Summer Games, and for the 2017 version in Winnipeg, the only team to win gold in any sport from the province.

Five local players - Jayden Huls and Rylan Marianchuk of Humboldt, Logan Hofmann and Brody Frerichs from Muenster, and Watrous' Tyler McWillie were members of the team.

Members of the team accepted the award Thursday in Saskatoon.
