Basketball was the theme of this past Sunday out at Middle Lake School.

The Three Lakes Avengers held their annual Basketball Camp, with Grades 3-7 getting the morning session and Grades 8-12 taking the afternoon slot.

Paul and Maddy Humbert were the special guest coaches at the event and were very pleased about what the camp offers for youth. "I think it's really important to set a foundation to develop their skills, and in an environment where they feel comfortable taking risks," said Maddy Humbert.

Paul added in "It's all about developing those positive attitudes and working together. A lot of what we talk about on the floor is skill development, but another huge part of it is the teamwork, and how to work well with people around you."

Tyler Bilinski, an HCI student and Mohawk football player, on the opportunity to better his skills. "It's great, you just gotta take in what they give you, and try your best to improve." Bilinski finished "It's not how well you can do, it's how hard you try, and how hard you try to keep improving."

There were 15 attending the morning segment and around 22 in the afternoon. It was a great show of hard work with the goal of improving basketball skills for all kids involved.
