It's an opportunity for your kids to show off their athletic abilities.

The Solestice Classic is returning to Humboldt's Glenn Hall Park on Saturday.

This is the third year that the event has been taking place and organizer Nicole Unrau says it has been a big hit in the city.

"We host one of the biggest meets in the province every single year, so it's awesome to have such great support from the community."

The classic is open to kids born between 2004 and 2009.

Unrau added that there are multiple events for kids to try out and those that do well get to participate at a higher level.

"They get a chance to try jumping, running and throwing of all kinds. The top two get to advance to provincials in Saskatoon, so it's a pretty cool opportunity for the kids."

Unrau says the meet is an opportunity for kids to not only see their abilities on the track, but to also start developing an interest.

"Our goal is to promote track and field in the area. We want as many kids from as young age as possible to start getting involved and loving the sport."

Events will begin at 10:00am. The deadline to register is end of day on Wednesday. You can find more details on signing up by clicking here.
