As we get well into the season of fall, activities at area rinks get into full swing with Skate Humboldt getting set for their new season.

Next week, the club will get the season underway with a CanSkate 101 session as well as hitting the ice for the first time on Friday.

Skate Humboldt President, Troy Lucyshyn said these early lessons are very valuable and get you ready for all on ice sports.

"It really does teach kids how to skate, the whole program is based upon learning agility, balance, and control and again, regardless of what sports you get into later on that is needed for skating

Lucyshyn explained what will be happening their CanSkate session on Tuesday and Thursday, "they learn about the abc's of our CanSkate program which is agility, balance, control, the many different types of fun days that we have during the season, bring a friend day, fun fest, family day, our carnival, our awards ceremony, and it really just kinda lays the ground work so they know what to expect."

There two different ice times for the club which are Mondays at 4:45pm and Fridays at 4pm.

Skate Humboldt takes all skill levels in the club according to Lucyshyn, "we start taking kids in as early as 3 years old all the way up to 18. For any kids under the age of six we have a buy and try program, if it doesn't work out within the first 30 days you get most of your money back."

The deadline to get registered is Saturday, October 10th.
