High school basketball provincial championships have become quite friendly with Horizon Central small schools.

Once again, Hoopla will be filled with teams from the area following the conclusion of regionals on Saturday.

Middle Lake and St. Brieux will be sending both boys and girls teams to Prince Albert, while Wynyard's girls and Lake Lenore's boys also advanced.

  • Wynyard 80 Saskatoon Christian 63 (2A Girls)

Humboldt and Foam Lake's girls teams also competed in regional finals, coming out on the losing side. The Mohawks fell 76-38 to Moose Jaw Peacock, while Foam Lake was edged out 74-71 by Canora.

The HCI boys team lost to Peacock in 4A boys, while Lake Lenore's girls team lost out to Gladmar, and the Wynyard boys fell to Saskatoon Christian.
