The Muenster Midget AAA Red Sox secured three of a possible four wins over the weekend, as they took part in a home and home with the Southeast Twins.

On Muenster Minor Ball Day Saturday, the Red Sox bats hammered the Twins for 22 runs in 12-3 and 10-5 victories. Brody Frerichs had a two run homer in the first game and had five RBI total between the two games. Tyler McWillie drove in three runs in his first game action of the season for Muenster.

Logan Hofmann and Parker McRae picked up the wins.

Back in Estevan on Sunday, Frerichs took the mound for the first game, overpowering the Twins to the tune of a one hitter. He struck out six over seven innings pitched to get the win. The Red Sox fell 4-0 in the back end of the doubleheader.

They host the Regina Athletics for one game on Sunday.


Four games were on the schedule for the Midget AA Humboldt Dodgers, but only two were played due to weather conditions. 

In Regina on Saturday, a doubleheader against the Regina Mets was rained out in the third inning of the first game.

On Sunday, the Dodgers returned home and picked up a pair of wins, defeating the Regina Pacers 6-3 and 7-1. Brett Muyres went four innings in Game 1, with Damon Vanderlinde coming in to finish the game.

In the second game, Drew Bauml went three innings, allowing just one hit to secure the win. The Dodgers started Game 2 with a bang, driving in five runs in the bottom of the first inning.

They remain at home for their next action, hosting the Regina White Sox for a double dip on Humboldt Minor Ball Day, which takes place Sunday.


The Marysburg Royals held a mini three team tournament over the weekend.

In the first game, they pounded the Northeast Red Sox by a 12-1 margin before winning the tournament with a 5-1 win over Arm River, who beat Northeast 5-3 in the middle game.
