Day 3 of the Saskatchewan Winter Games in North Battleford saw more medal winners from the area.

In hockey, Wadena's Castor Berezuik and Prairie Central finished second, falling 6-4 to Saskatoon in the gold medal game.

Gymnastics saw a Humboldt athlete earn a bronze medal.

Tristan Marquis finished in third place in the horizontal bar event. He also finished fifth in the floor exercise.

Marquis' Calico Gymnastics teammate Raya Wacker placed fifth and seventh in her two events.

In synchronized swimming, Prairie Central finished seventh in the team event. They were represented by Humboldt swimmers Ashley Hinz, Emma Knight, Sabrina MacLean and Katherine Possberg.

Second half begins

Thursday marks the beginning of the final three days of the games, with plenty more athletes from the area competing.

The female hockey tournament sees seven players represent the area, including Humboldt's Nicole Girolami, Lauren Hinz, Kiana Leicht and Drew Vipond.

They're joined by Cassadi Klapak of Lanigan, Sydney Martin from Watson, and Bridgette Vedress of St. Brieux.

Other sports with area athletes include Badminton, Bowling, Cross Country Skiing, Figure Skating, and Snowboard.

The games conclude on Saturday.
