Three area Senior hockey leagues are getting set for league playoffs.

The Long Lake Hockey League's regular season schedule concluded on Saturday as the Drake Canucks defeated Wynyard 7-3.

The win clinched first place overall for the Canucks and secured their first round bye as the top seed.

In second place was the defending champion Watrous Winterhawks, who will also be off for the first round of playoffs.

The first round sees the third seeded Wynyard Monarchs meet the LeRoy Braves, who finished in sixth. The four against five matchup pits the Davidson Cyclones against the Lanigan Pirates.

Drake will take on the lowest seed remaining, while Watrous meets the highest seed leftover.

In the Wheatland Hockey League, the Foam Lake Flyers finished the regular season with a 19-2 record, earning them a first round bye as North Division champions.

The Allan Flames won the South Division regular season crown with a 16-3-2 mark and will also be off for round one.

In the North, Kinistino has home ice advantage over Porcupine Plain, while the South has Craik at home against Imperial.

Playoffs are already underway in the Fort Carlton Hockey League, where the Wakaw Lakers are up one game on their opponent.

After finishing third in the regular season standings with an 11-7 record, the Lakers take on the Prairie Outlaws in the first round.

Wakaw stole home ice in Game 1, which was played on Sunday, picking up a 6-3 win.

The Lakers got out to a 4-1 lead through 20 minutes to lead themselves to victory in the first game.

The winner of the series takes on Hague or Tisdale in the league final.
