The Peewee AA Humboldt Broncos are heading into the Christmas break on a high note.

Since starting the season 1-4-2, the Broncos take a nine game unbeaten streak into the break, which saw them go 8-0-1 over that stretch.

Humboldt took on Melfort and Warman in their final games prior to the Christmas break on December 15 and 16.

Friday's game in Melfort saw the Broncos dominate the final two periods to take a 7-3 win. Tied 1-1 through one period, Humboldt outscored the Mustangs 6-2 en route to victory.

Bauer Dumanski had four goals in the game with Ryland Martin, Blaise Athmer and Edward Knittig contributing the remaining goals.

On Saturday, the Broncos hosted the Wildcats in a back and forth battle, which ended in Humboldt's favour by a 5-4 margin.

Dumanski added three more goals, while Athmer and Cam Marshak had the other tallies.

Bradley Ries picked up both wins in the crease for Humboldt, who improved to 9-4-3 on the season.

Their 21 points are currently good enough for the top spot in the league.

Play resumes on January 10 for the Broncos when they visit Tisdale.
