Sask Sport unveiled their finalists for 2017 awards on Tuesday, noting one team with local flavour.

Saskatchewan's Under-18 baseball team is one of three finalists for Team of the Year.

The team won gold at the Canada Summer Games in August, defeating Manitoba 3-1 in a thrilling final game.

Five players from the Western Canadian champion Muenster Red Sox played on the team, including Logan Hofmann, Brody Frerichs, Tyler McWillie, Rylan Marianchuk, and Jayden Huls.

It was the second year in a row that Saskatchewan won the U18 national title.

Also nominated in the team category are Team Canada West floor hockey, who won silver at the Special Olympics World Winter Games, and the Senior Women Water Polo team, who won the national title.

The awards will be handed out on March 22 in Saskatoon.
