The HCI Mohawks boys soccer team overcame a halftime deficit to claim the regional championship on Saturday.

The Mohawks were up against the hosts from Notre Dame in the final, and after trailing 3-0 through the first half, Humboldt scored five unanswered goals to win the championship.

Humboldt had already punched their ticket to provincials after winning the semifinal 3-2 over Moose Jaw Central earlier in the day.

On Monday, the Saskatchewan High School Athletics Association released the rankings for the provincial tournament, which sees the Mohawks ranked fourth.

They will take on Regina's Luther College in the quarterfinal round on Friday in Yorkton.

It will be the first appearance at provincials for the boys team since 2013 when they placed third.

In 1A boys play, the Middle Lake Avengers defeated Lake Lenore 4-3 in the regional final in Osler.

Both teams advance to provincials, with the Avengers securing the top seed. They will take on Sakewew from North Battleford.

The Lancers are ranked second and will meet Moose Jaw Vanier.

Middle Lake is hosting provincials for the second year in a row.

The Avengers' girls team is also off to provincials after they defeated Lake Lenore in the regional semifinal in Middle Lake.

Warman won the tournament with a 1-0 win in the final.

HCI's girls team was looking for a return to the provincial championship, but lost to Warman in the semifinal.

Provincials for 1A girls is taking place in Martensville, with the Avengers taking on Dalmeny in their first game.
