One day after falling in a shootout, the Melville Millionaires bounced back to hand the Humboldt Broncos a 3-2 loss.

Melville held off an early Broncos surge on Saturday night at the Elgar Petersen Arena to score the game's first goal on Tyler Millar's first marker of the season.

Early in the second period, Logan Schatz scored his sixth goal of the season to even the game 1-1, before the Millionaires were able to hop back infront on Millar's second goal of the night.

The visitors went up 3-1 on the scoreboard just over two minutes later when Montana Streit scored his second goal of the young season.

Following a near 40 minute second intermission due to a malfunction with the ice resurfacing machine, the Broncos brought the game back to within one goal with 6:35 remaining, when Logan Hunter buried a feed from Kaleb Dahlgren.

Pressing late, the Broncos were unable to force overtime, as the Millionaires skated away with the win to split the weekend home and home with Humboldt.

Jacob Wassermann made 26 saves for the Broncos in his sixth straight start.

It was the first of four straight home games for Humboldt, who welcome Kindersley on Tuesday, and Yorkton on Thursday.

Through 15 games, the Broncos are 8-6-1 for 17 points, which is currently tied for the division lead, although with more games played than Battlefords, Notre Dame, and Kindersley.
