The brooms were out for two Humboldt Minor Hockey teams, as weekend games were swept Saturday and Sunday.

In Martensville, the Midget AA Broncos earned a 3-0 win Saturday night.

On Sunday, the Broncos stopped in Saskatoon for a meeting with the Screaming Eagles. Humboldt grabbed the lead once again, when Gavin Ingram found the back of the net just 2:24 into the game.

Morgan Gobeil and Damon Vanderlinde scored goals in the second period to put Humboldt up 3-1 late in the middle session. Saskatoon would strike back with just one second left on a late power play goal to make it 3-2 headed to the third.

In the third period, Hilts would regain the two goal edge for Humboldt before Vanderlinde deposited his second goal to make it 5-2.

The Eagles added another late guy to make the final 5-3 for the Broncos. Ryland Pronych picked up the win.

Through four games, the Broncos sit with a record of 3-1, currently tied for fourth overall. Their next game doesn't come until November 6 when they host the Saskatoon Icehawks in LeRoy.

The Bantam AA Broncos hosted a pair of games in LeRoy against Moose Jaw and Weyburn.

New for 2016-17, the Saskatchewan Bantam AA Hockey League has added a five minute overtime session.

Humboldt used that to their advantage just 44 seconds into the extra frame as Kalen Ukrainetz scored the game-winning goal for a 4-3 victory.

Sunday's game was less stressing for the Broncos.
