The Midget AA Broncos are back to playing games.

Opening up the season on the road, the Broncos visited Battlefords and Prince Albert for a weekend road trip.

Saturday night, they picked up a 3-2 win over the Barons.

Morgan Gobeil got the scoring started with a power play goal late in the opening period. Humboldt took a 2-0 lead when first-year forward Dylan Lindal found the back of the net.

The third period saw Battelford push back with a pair of goals in less than two minutes from Blake Oborowsky.

Humboldt regained the lead near the midway point of the period when Holden Holaday scored. Holaday's goal would turn out to be the winner for the Broncos.

Dawson Cochrane earned the win in goal.

Visiting Prince Albert on Sunday afternoon, the Broncos started the game in identical fashion, with a power play tally in the latter part of the first period. Kyle Berscheid would get credit for the goal.

After the Chill tied the game 1-1, Humboldt scored a pair of goals in the front half of the second period, off the sticks of Damon Vanderlinde and Daigon Elmy.

Prince Albert, however, would score a pair of goals late in the period, once again sending it to the break tied.

Mikhail Tait scored his third and fourth goals of the game in the final frame as Prince Albert went on to win 6-3.

Ryland Pronych took the loss in the Humboldt net

The weekend road trip was just the beginning of a tough first two months for Humboldt, who won't play at the Elgar Petersen Arena until December 10.

Next up is a meeting with Martensville on Saturday, October 22. The following day, the Broncos are in Saskatoon to take on the Eagles.
