Eleven women's curling teams took part in their last chance to gain entry to the Saskatchewan Scotties.

One last chance.

That was the theme for 11 of the province's top women's curling teams over the weekend, as Curling Saskatchewan brought the Last Chance Bonspiel to Humboldt.

Up for grabs was four entries in to the provincial Scotties Tournament of Hearts, which will be held in Prince Albert from January 27-31.

The tournament was a triple knockout format, which meant that if you lost in the 'A' bracket, you would fall to the 'B' bracket, and eventually the 'C' side.

Kristie Moore and her foursome out of the Callie Curling Club in Regina only needed one shot to qualify, as they claimed the first ticket to the Scotties with a 7-5 win over fellow Callie member, Nancy Inglis on Saturday afternoon.

Inglis would drop all the way down to the 'C' side after dropping another 7-5 decision to Kelsey Dutton.

The team from Swift Current punched their ticket in the first draw on Sunday morning, taking a 8-6 win over Mandy Selzer. This year, Dutton formed a team with Humboldt's Kaitlyn Bowman, who plays third.

Bowman will make her third straight appearance in the provincial Scotties after playing lead for Brett Barber the previous two years.

Inglis and Selzer would scoop up the final two spots on Sunday afternoon. Inglis downed Lana Vey's foursome skipped by former Canadian champion Amber Holland, 11-7. Selzer defeated Alyssa Despins out of Saskatoon 10-3.

The four teams join previous qualifiers which includes two-time defending champion, Stefanie Lawton. Michelle Englot, Sherry Anderson, Penny Barker, Robyn Silvernagle, Jolene Campbell, Kim Schneider, and Nancy Martin round out the field.
