Three Bantam AA Humboldt Broncos have heard their name called in the WHL Bantam Draft.

Kaden Kohle of Cudworth was the first to go in the draft. He was selected in the 1st Round, 12th Overall by the Tri-City Americans.

"He had a great year. He's a really competitive kid and gets into the dirty zones. He has the capability to finish and he is a big kid," explained Assistant General Manager Barclay Parneta following the pick.

"Physically he is still a little immature but we really se an upside with his strengths."

Parneta added that these picks are ones they are banking on for the future.

"It's really important. Scouting is about projection and I think at 18 or 19, this kid is really going to be a force for us."

Kohle compiled 38 goals and 28 assists for 66 points in 29 games for the Broncos this season.

Next off the board was defenseman Brett Fogg of Wadena, who was taken in the 5th Round, 91st Overall by the Kootenay Ice.

Fogg was the leader on the blueline for the Broncos and contributed nine goals to go with 17 assists.

Wynyard's Kalen Ukrainetz was selected in the 9th Round, 196th Overall by the Everett Silvertips.

It was Ukrainetz's first season with Humboldt Minor Hockey, having previously played for his hometown Monarchs. He made it a good year, scoring 26 goals to go with 24 assists.

A pair of other players who formerly played in Humboldt were selected in the draft as well.

Forward Massen Ziola went 145th to the Swift Current Broncos. Ziola played his second year of Peewee AA in Humboldt along with Kohle, Fogg and Dylan Scriven.

Scriven went a few picks later, being taken 150th by the Prince Albert Raiders. After a few seasons in Humboldt, Scriven joined the Notre Dame Bantam AAA Hounds in the Canadian School Sports League.
