Fans at the Elgar Petersen Arena Sunday night witnessed the most impressive personal performance of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League season, unfortunately it was against them.

Landon Gross scored five goals to lead the Kindersley Klippers to a 9-3 victory over the Broncos. If the feat was not miraculous enough, the 19 year-old scored the opening five in the lopsided loss for the Broncos whose record slips to 7-13-3.

The Humboldt goal scorers were Trevor Posch with his third, Andrew Thompson scored his third as well. Anthony Kapelke notched his fourth.

The Broncos started Brett Clark in goal and gave up the first two goals to Gross.

Brett Friesen replaced him, he allowed seven on 33 Klipper chances.

Carson Pickett added a pair for Kindersley, Austin Calladine and Daniel Lange also scored for the visitors.

Nathan Hargrave continues to have the Broncos' number, he stopped 32/35 for his second win of the year over Humboldt.

Kindersley was 3/5 on the power-play, Humboldt was 0/2.

The green and gold will look to shake off the cobwebs and prepare for a two game road trip to Estevan and Notre Dame, both teams they have defeated this season.

KMK Sales Broncos' hockey begins with the pregame show at 6:45 from Affinity Place in Estevan on Tuesday.

The Broncos will be holding their annual general meeting on Monday night at the Uniplex. It's open to the public.

In the other game Sunday night the Battlefords Stars edged the ND Hounds 5-4 in overtime.
