The Kenaston Kodiaks took the 43rd Wade Weseen Invitational in Lake Lenore, knocking off the defending champion Middle Lake Avengers 62-38.

Kenaston and Middle Lake meeting in the final of a tournament has become quite common place in recent history, with several provincial finals occurring between the two small school powerhouses.

Kenaston edged the hometown Lancers 51-46 in one semi-final earlier Saturday, while Middle Lake got to the final with a 77-63 win over Kinistino.

The third place game saw Kinistino defeat Lake Lenore 49-39.

On the first day of play Friday, Kinistino defeated Humboldt, Kenaston picked up a win over Hague, Middle Lake downed St. Walburg and Lake Lenore knocked off Moose Jaw Cornerstone.

Hague went on to win the 'B' side, defeating HCI 50-41.
