The newest member of the Humboldt Broncos is fitting in nicely through the first two games he has played.

Jaxon Joseph was acquired from the Melfort Mustangs on November 1, in a trade that saw the Broncos send forward Tristen Elder to Melfort.

Joseph says that it has been a good start for him in the green and gold.

"I'm liking my line, I'm liking the team. We're flowing pretty good," he noted, also explaining his playing style. "I'm a hard worker, but I like to score goals."

Head Coach and General Manager Darcy Haugan agreed on Joseph's work ethic.

"He plays real hard. I watched a lot of his games on Fast Hockey, and he doesn't take a shift off," said Haugan. "He's a really intelligent player and can play all over the ice. I have really appreciated his game."

After having a handful of chances in his first game on November 1 against Battlefords, Joseph made good in finding the back of the net in his second game, scoring a power play marker against Melville on November 3.

Joseph says that the playing style in Humboldt is more enjoyable as well.

"Melfort was a little more aggressive, but I like the style of play in Humboldt more. It's more planning your attack outright, instead of Melfort where it is just go, go, go, non-stop."

The 20-year-old played in 16 games for the Mustangs this season, scoring three goals and collecting five points in total.

Last season he played in 50 games for Melfort, adding 11 goals and 15 assists for 26 points.

Part of the Joseph trade included 16-year-old defenseman Kade Olsen, who currently plays for the Midget AAA Beardy's Blackhawks.

Haugan noted that he has only heard good things about the youngster.

"We hear he is a high character kid. Our scouts like him. Luke Strueby really liked him."

He also touted the program in Beardy's and Head Coach Dale Grayston, noting that they have always had success with players from the Blackhawks.

Olsen, from Saskatoon, is in his second year of Midget hockey.
