Eight teams competed Saturday, as Muenster Club Volleyball hosted a tournament.

Eight teams came out Saturday to have some fun and a chance to win some money, all while supporting Muenster Club Volleyball.

Melanie Blechinger, a coach of one of the three club teams, says they were in need of funds.

"We needed to raise funds for our club volleyball teams, so we thought this would be a good fundraiser."

Approximately $500 will be raised from the event.

Money raised will go towards tournament fees as well as Sask Cup registration fees.

The club was started out of passion for the game, according to Blechinger.

"I love the sport, and Jewel (Varga, a coach), her daughter plays on (Varga's) team, so we started that club. I enjoy coaching the girls."

Muenster has three club teams in total - 16U and 17U - both of which are women's teams, and now the new 14U men's team that is coached by Darren Varga.

Blechinger added that the club is hoping to make the tournament an annual event.
