The battle in Flin Flon throughout the weekend went exactly how it was expected. That was a fast-paced competitive set of games decided by one goal each time.

In game one of two, it was the Broncos who came out of the opening frame with the lead. Micheal Clarke and Mitch Zambon scoring the goals, Zambon's first as a Bronco, had Humboldt up by two after 20 minutes.

In the second, the legs stopped moving for Humboldt as they watched the high flying Bombers take control of the game. The Bombers would pick up a pair of goals in the middle frame to knot it up at two apiece heading into the third.

For the first ten minutes of the third period, it resembled the second rather than the first. Flin Flon would score three more, and put the Broncos in a 5-2 hole. A late push from the Broncos got the game within one. Micheal Clarke and Owen Guenter with the tallies. However, it was too little too late as the Bombers would take game one 5-4.

Dane Dow was fantastic in the loss. Although allowing five goals, Dow made double that in highlight reel saves. He stopped 40 of 45 in the loss.

Game two, Saturday night, and the Broncos were looking for a split in the two-game set. Once again speed and physicality was a mainstay throughout 60 minutes.

The first period had Flin Flon jump out to the early lead as Rayce Ramsay, who started in net for the Broncos, would allow a goal on just his second shot faced. That would be the only negative thing for the Broncos goaltender, as he shut down the Bombers the rest of the way.

Brayden Camrud would score his 17th of the year late in the opening frame, shorthanded, to tie the game at one.

That would be all the scoring up until the last minute of play in the game. Camrud, who was flying all over the ice for all three periods, fed the puck up to Drew Warkentine. Warkentine made no mistake and fired a laser up and under the crossbar to lift the Broncos to a 2-1 victory.

Rayce Ramsay stopped 35 of 36 in net for the victory.

The Broncos have three games remaining before the holiday break. Up next is a road game in Notre Dame against the Hounds on Wednesday, December 12.
