With only two games left in the regular season, it looks like 6th place might be where the Humboldt Broncos slot in for playoffs, but it's still anyone's guess.

The Humboldt Broncos currently sit in 6th place in the SJHL with 72 points. The amount of scenarios is tough for anyone to wrap their head around, but technically, the Broncos can finish either 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th or 7th.

The possibility remains, however slim, that the Broncos can finish 2nd in the league. This would depend on multiple facets falling into place.

A reminder that if two teams are tied in points, the new tiebreaker rules would defer to the team's "ROW", which is regulation + overtime wins.

First off, let's preview the remaining games for the Broncos' Ag Risk Divison foes who still have a shot at being 1st place in the division.

Humboldt (72 points)

Friday, March 1st - @ Kindersley
Saturday, March 2nd - vs Battlefords

Kindersley (75 points)

Friday, March 1st - vs Humboldt
Saturday, March 2nd - vs Notre Dame
Tuesday, March 5th - @ Battlefords

Battlefords (74 points)

Friday, March 1st - vs Notre Dame
Saturday, March 2nd - @ Humboldt
Tuesday, March 5th - vs Kindersley

The easy thing to start with is the Humboldt Broncos must win both their games (in regulation) to have a shot at being 1st place in the division.

The second, Notre Dame must be victorious over both Battlefords (in regulation) on March 1st and Kindersley on March 2nd.

The final piece that would have to fall into place, is a Battlefords victory (in regulation) over Kindersley on March 5th.

To put it in other words, if Kindersley secures 2 more points or Battlefords secures 3 more points, the Broncos cannot finish 1st in the division.

Stay out of the Survivor Series

Flin Flon (67 PTS)

Friday, March 1st - vs La Ronge
Saturday, March 2nd - @ La Ronge
Tuesday, March 5th - vs Melfort

This one is much easier. If the Broncos win one more game they are safe from the survivor series round. If they fail to secure two points, they must hope for Flin Flon to lose just one of their final three games.

Somehow, with only two games remaining, it still seems too early to start speculating where the Broncos can finish, which just proves the amazing balance there is in the SJHL.
