Senior boys basketball is now in full swing for another season at Humboldt Collegiate Institute.

The Mohawks senior boys team held their tryouts this past week, and have made their final cuts to their team.

Ron Roach, coach of the team, on how the tryout's went, and how the team is shaping up.

"The team is looking good, they have developed a lot since last year." Roach continued "We are looking to be competitive within the league this year, and I'm hoping that we finish somewhere in the middle of the pack."

He mentioned that there were around 20 that tried out, and they chose 13 for their final roster.

The team's ultimate goal is to make HOOPLA this spring, with their first tournament of the year being a close mockup of the one later in the year.

This is one of many local basketball programs starting up.
