Another weekend, another successful swim meet for the Humboldt Hammerheads.

In the northern semi finals in Melfort this past weekend 35 of the 38 swimmers they had entered guaranteed themselves a spot at the upcoming provincial championships.

To be eligible to swim in provincial finals, you had to qualify at the Melfort meet. Swimmers also had to place in the top six of their event. Each event that they qualified for is the discipline they compete in at the provincials, against the top six swimmers from the southern semis.

The team also brought home a number of awards from the weekend, they earned the junior aggregate trophy for team points from swimmers aged 12 & under with 269, the senior aggregate trophy for team points from swimmers aged 13 & over with 291 and the grand team aggregate trophy with 560 points.

Ten of the athletes also collected personal awards:

9-10 Girls-Abbey McLarty, bronze
9-10 Boys-Cuyler Brooks, silver
11-12 Girls-Charlize Parish, gold
13-14 Girls-Jordan Nienaber, bronze
13-14 Girls-Lauren Hinz, gold
13-14 Boys-Darren Romanuik, bronze
13-14 Boys-Jay Eichorst, silver
15-17 Girls-Maya Berscheid, gold
15-17 Boys-Ryan Hinz, bronze

The provincial meet will take place in Watrous on August 5th-6th.
