It was another successful weekend in the pool for the Humboldt Hammerheads who sent a smaller contingent of athletes to the province's southwest corner last weekend.

Abbie and Tessa Cannon, Troy Dunne, Karyn Kaip, Lauryn MacLean, Sabrina MacLean, Jordan Nienaber, and Charlize Parish all hit the water Saturday in Swift Current with four collecting medals. In the 11-12-year-old girls, Abbie Cannon took the silver medal and Parish brought home the gold. In the 13-14-year-old girls, Nienaber earned herself a bronze medal, as did Lauryn MacLean in the 15-17-year-old girl's category.

Overall the Hammerheads were 5th in the team points with 153.

On Sunday, the same group of competitors was in Gravelbourg for a "sprint" meet which means every race is half the distance.

The team placed first in the "small club" standings with 105, a small club is under ten swimmers. One aggregate medal came back from Gravelbourg, Parish took the silver in the 11-12 girls age group.

The northern qualifying meet happens this coming weekend in Melfort, where the Hammerheads will have 38 swimmers in the water trying to qualify for the provincial finals.
