It was another successful weekend in the pool for the Humboldt Hammerheads Swim Team, as they traveled north for a pair of meets.

Head Coach Leisl Lefebvre says that Humboldt represented a large portion of swimmers at the meets, and it showed in the results.

"The teams in the north tend to be smaller, we have smaller numbers overall as teams so we have fewer competitors. The Melfort meet, we brought home 13 medals overall, aggregate medals in the age groups, both boys and girls. In Nipawin we brought home 12 medals, some of the same ones got medals and some different ones got medals depending on the day and the competition so it was good."

Lefebvre beamed that there were some personal bests smashed over the two days as well from a number of swimmers including a 20 second trimming for one of the girls.

"She swam it last year at the very end of the year and now here we are halfway through our competitive season she got a chance to swim it again and took an outstanding amount of time off off her race, it was an excellent swim. There were a few surprise winners here and there in races, it was really great to watch."

The Hammerheads visit Biggar on Saturday and Watrous on Sunday for the next meets before hosting northern provincial semi-finals on July 23rd.

10 swimmers will compete in Biggar, 26 Hammerheads are registered for the Watrous meet.
