Any point scored on home ice tends to feel great, and now it's about to feel even better.

Local KidSport chapters is teaming up with SaskEnergy, KidSport Saskatchewan, and the SJHL to kick off the Fifth season of "Goals for KidSport" on November 2nd at the Broncos game against La Ronge here in Humboldt.

Over the years, Goals for KidSport has raised over $111,000 and helped 560 children in Saskatchewan take part in local sports programs. Goals for KidsSport is an event that takes place every SJHL season where every home goal scored, $20 is donated to children who can't afford to play sports. Also, each team is selling raffle tickets for people possibly coming away with 1200 air miles and funds go towards the same cause.

"Participation in sports gives the kids an opportunity to learn life skills such as teamwork, responsibility, confidence, and character in kids. So fundraising such as this is ensuring that KidsSport can continue to fund so they can get all the benefits that sport has," said Tammy Hoffart with KidSport.

Last year the 2017-18 Humboldt Broncos held the most home goals at 102. Right now the Broncos are sitting at 25 home goals and will look to add to the total this Wednesday against La Ronge
