In the Richardson Pioneer Men's Fastball League, Kevin Garinger was nearly unhittable, as the Foam Lake Merchants downed the Fishing Lake Cubs 21-0.

Garinger pitched a one-hit, complete game shutout to earn the win for the Merchants.

In other action, it was an all Wadena battle. The young guns came out on top with the Wadena Wildcats defeating the Rosebud Royals 15 to 6. Wildcats starter Koltin Paquachan kept the Royals bats quiet only allowing one run through four innings and he also helped his cause with a two run home run. Nathan Pomedli closed out the game for the Wildcats while the veteran Royals sent Steve Moulding to the mound for five innings with Greg Tokarchuk pitching the last two.

The Humboldt Golf Club held its weekly Men's Night on Thursday. 

Winning the four man scramble was the team of Greig and Peter Frostad, Greg Rogers and Curtis Zazula. The foursome had a score of 8-under.

Closest to the pin winners were Lorne Niekamp (Hole 10), Mike Herperger (12) and Brayden Klimosko (15). Klimosko also had the longest drive, which was being contested on Hole 18.


Humboldt's Tayden Wallin is in Neepawa, Manitoba, for the CN Future Links Prairie Championship.

Wallin is one of the top junior golfers in the province, currently sitting second on the Order of Merit for the junior tour in Saskatchewan. Through two events thus far, Wallin has earned one win, which came in the season opener on May 22-23 in Swift Current.

The first round is Friday morning, with the three round tournament concluding on Sunday.
