Following his strong performance against the Portland Winterhawks, Humboldt's Reid Gardiner has been named the Western Hockey League's Player of the Week.

Gardiner had 12 points in three games to help the Kelowna Rockets eliminate the Winterhawks in five games.

During the three games, Gardiner tallied six goals - four of which, came in the Game 5 elimination of Portland. Overall in the series, the 21-year-old had 16 points.

Through 11 playoff games, Gardiner has a league-leading 22 points.

The Rockets will take on Seattle in the Western Conference final beginning on Friday.
