Farmers from near and far came out to partake in the annual Farmer's Bonspiel, held Friday and Saturday at the Humboldt Curling Club.

"It's a great social event. It's not highly competitive. It's more about guys getting to come, hang out, socialize, and talk farming!" says participant and sponsor from Horizon Fertilizer, Dustin Novecosky.

Novecosky has been enjoying attending the bonspiel for the past few years and says this year's turnout has been great. The curling club welcomed eighteen teams from Quill Lake, Watrous, Cudworth and farmers from the Humboldt area.

The top three teams get to pick prizes first from the selection of donated prizes from the sponsors. Novecosky says the spiel is based on a point system with teams earning a point per hand and 2 points per win.

Novecosky says he's pleased to see everybody having a good time and would like to thank the teams for attending and the sponsors of the bonspiel.
