12 teams of youngsters were playing hockey from sunrise to sundown in Nokomis over the weekend.

Nokomis Minor Hockey Day took place on January 19th with six games consisting of 12 teams hitting the ice.

"Its always a positive experience for everybody, all the out of town teams come here and are usually impressed with the day and everything goes pretty good," said President of Minor Hockey Day, Jake McNichol.

The full day started out with the youngest from Nokomis facing Watrous at 9:00 am and ran back to back, moving up in age groups, until the final puck drop at 8 pm between the Midget team from Watrous taking on Humboldt.

The event is an annual showing and is a fundraiser for general cost with minor hockey in Nokomis.
