Lanigan is getting set to host a high school football game under the lights Friday.

The junior Lazers will take part in a mini-game then the seniors will host the Aberdeen Crusaders around seven o'clock.

Head Coach Ryan Wilson talks about how they scored a touchdown with the idea.

"We talked about being an exciting event for the community where everybody can get together and cheer on their home squad and sometimes do a little bit of fundraising as well. We participated in one of those events last year in Cupar and had an amazingly good time. It was a very exciting game, we were lucky enough to have some beautiful weather and we decided that would be fantastic event for our community as well."

They will have a full concession hosted by the splash park committee and also a 50-50 draw.

If all goes well in it's inaugural attempt, Wilson hopes this could turn into an annual event.

"I guess part of that depends on the success of this particular first time try but anytime you repeat things and second and third time it get's better and better so we hope it keeps growing."

Everything kicks off at 4:30.
