The Broncos lost their third straight Saturday night this time dropping a 5-2 decision to the Flin Flon Bombers.

They fell behind early again giving up three first period goals and not replying on any of their 11 shots in the opening frame.

That cost them according to Assistant Coach Brayden Klimosko.

"We maybe took it to them a little bit, we had a couple chances there, we don't bury and they pot three on us and that's the difference right there. We had some opportunities, you've just to bare down you know, you just have to bare down in those situations."

Eric Sinclair and Jason Lavallee scored power-play goals while Rylee Zimmer added an even strength marker for the visitors in the first.

Overall the Bombers were 2/4 with the man advantage, Humboldt finished 0/4. Chris Van Os-Shaw did score just as Bomber infraction came to a close but in the end that was a key factor in the game.

"I think you could look at almost any hockey game and it really comes down to special teams," Klimosko chimed. "You definitely can't be minus two on the special teams battle."

Dawson Atamanchuk scored his fourth of the year from Josh Roberts and Levi Hulston to make it 3-1 early in the second.

The Bombers answered shortly thereafter from Brody Madarash restoring their three goal cushion. Van Os-Shaw's league leading 17th was as close as the home side would get. Atamanchuk and Roberts each picked up an assist.

Nate Hooper closed the deal with an empty netter, Garrett Mason took the loss stopping 27/31. Zac Robidoux turned aside 23/25 Humboldt opportunities.

Klimosko admitted their starts, which have allowed them to give up 11 goals in the opening period in the the last three contests are getting to them a little bit.

"We're so worried when we do get down that now we just back off. We don't engage, we don't do a lot of things that you have to do win a hockey game. I think we're playing not to lose right now and you can't play hockey like that. You are going to lose a lot of hockey games doing it that way."

The Broncos will look to return to the win column on Wednesday when the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League's top team, the Battlefords Stars visit. Face-off is 7:30. The Stars lost 8-6 Saturday night to Estevan to snap their 13 game winning streak. Estevan has now won three in a row. Elsewhere, Yorkton routed LaRonge 5-1 and Notre Dame edged Weyburn 4-3 in shoot-out.
