The Horizon Central Athletic Association is seeing 11 girls volleyball teams move on to regionals following conference playdowns.

Englefeld, Annaheim, Imperial, Rose Valley, Ituna, Muenster, Raymore, Wynyard, Foam Lake, Wakaw and Watrous finished in the top two or three in their areas to advance.

Seven teams won the conference championship, including:

  • 1A Girls East 1 - Englefeld (defeated Annaheim 2-0)
  • 1A Girls East 2 - Imperial (defeated Kenaston 2-0)
  • 1A Girls East 3 - Rose Valley (defeated Ituna 2-0)
  • 2A Girls East 2 - Muenster (finished round robin format 3-0)
  • 3A Girls East 2 - Wynyard (defeated Invermay 2-0)
  • 3A Girls West 1 - Wakaw (finished round robin format 3-0)
  • 3A Girls West 3 - Watrous (finished round robin format 4-0)

Annaheim, Ituna and Raymore all finished second in their conference, while Foam Lake advanced by winning a third place game.

The HCI Mohawks were competing in Outlook and finished with a record of one win to three losses. They placed fourth, missing out on advancing by one game.

The staggered format to allow for enough officials, will see girls teams enter regional playdowns on November 10 and 11, while boys teams will begin conference play.
