Jimmy Bubnick scored with 7:37 left in overtime as the Drake Canucks took a 2-0 series lead over the Watrous Winterhawks on Tuesday.

Bubnick's winner caused some controversy, as the goal judge and players on the ice thought the puck hit the crossbar and didn't go in the net.

The high-scoring game ended in a 7-6 win for Drake, who held a 6-5 lead through two periods before Watrous' Chad Murton tied the game with 1:26 remaining in regulation.

Watrous had led 3-1 through 20 minutes before Drake put five goals on the board in the middle frame.

With the win, the Canucks are now one win away from capturing the Long Lake Hockey League title for the second time in four years.

Game 3 goes in Drake on March 19. If necessary, Game 4 would be March 21 in Watrous, with a potential fifth game back in Drake on March 27.
