Many spectators came to the Bruno area on Saturday and Sunday to watch a tournament between the Senior Men's and Ladies' Broomball Tournament. Director of the tournament, Ray Bender, says many people came out to watch the teams compete over the course of the weekend and he's grateful for the community response the tournament has had.

"I'd like to thank the people for coming out this weekend. Hopefully they enjoyed the great action!", says Bender of the turnout.

Four teams comprised the men's side: two from Bruno, North Battleford and Odessa, and the Ladies' competition featured broomball teams from Bruno, Debden, Odessa, and Saskatoon.

The weekend saw the men and women taking turns sharing the ice, alternating after two games each.

Bender says the Bruno Axemen were waiting to see who would play them in the final. The Battlefords Warriors were taking on the Bruno Prime Time to determine who would play against the Axemen in the final at 2:30 pm, Sunday.
On the ladies' side, the Saskatoon Flyers will play the Odessa Storm in the final, and the Bruno Bombshells are playing Debden on the B side final.

Bender says the provincials will be held in Odessa in March. The Bruno Axemen are going to the Nationals this year because they won the provincials last year. The ladies' team from Odessa also won last year's provincials; winning them a spot at the Nationals this year in Portage-la-Prairie, Manitoba.
